Basic biography

Brian Larson works as an attorney and business advisor to address a broad array of legal issues, including agency law, fair housing, copyrights and trademarks, technology, Internet, licensing, and general corporate matters. Larson is also an adjunct instructor at the University of Minnesota Law School. Before becoming an attorney, Larson was chief executive of an information technology services company for nearly 10 years.

He received his J.D. is from the William Mitchell College of Law, summa cum laude; his undergraduate from the University of Wisconsin, with distinction. He is a member of the American Bar Association, including the Antitrust Section’s Trade Associations Committee and the Intellectual Property Section’s Special Committee on Copyright and the Internet. He chairs the Association's Databases and E-Commerce Committee. He lives in Minneapolis.

Brian Larson has been described as the “father” of IDX (or Broker Reciprocity). He denies paternity and prefers to be described as the attending obstetrician. At the turn of the century, he ran around the country persuading MLSs and brokers that IDX was a good thing; for the last six years, he’s been getting paid to solve the problems IDX and the Internet have caused.
